Mach 3 Setup
You will need to download and install the latest version
of the Mach 3 software. You can download the software
www.machsupport.com/software/downloads-updates. The current version is R3.043.066.
Install the software using the defaults. When you get
to the "Select Packages" form, make sure the parallel port
drivers option is selected if you are using a PC that has a
parallel port; refer to Figure 17. If not, you can remove this
option, but the conversion will require additional hardware
to talk to the controller.
Once you get to the "Create Profiles and Desktop Icons"
page shown in Figure 18, click next as the proper profiles
will be provided for you.
Mach 3 Configuration
On the Kronos Robotics website, you can download a
zip file that contains all the files needed to get your Mach 3
install up and configured properly for your MF70 CNC. The
zip file is called mf70setupfiles.zip.
Copy the following files to your Mach 3 directory:
These are the configuration files needed for the
Mach 3. Copy the following files to your desktop:
These are the shortcut files used to invoke the above
configuration files. They have icons associated with them
and will look like those shown in Figure 19.
Attach the connector you made earlier to the X, Y, and
Z axes as in Figure 20. Connect the stepper leads to the
connectors as in Figure 21.
Do not connect or disconnect the motors while power
is applied to the controller board. You stand a very good
chance of blowing your board if you do this!
