However, when I tried to machine
the bellhousing off the stators — first
in my lathe (Figure 10) and then in my
mill (Figure 11) — they just came apart
and scattered the magnets (Figure
12). I wrecked three motors in the
process and need to order more.
It looks like I will have to epoxy the
inside of the bellhousings to hold the
two halves and magnets all together
solidly enough so that I can machine
off the parts I don’t want.
