DJ Sures Helps Ensure the
Future of Robotics Innovation
Roboticist and CEO of EZ-Robot, DJ Sures designs, creates, modifies, and updates his platform largely from a lab in his home. This
highly adaptable modular base has come a long
way while sticking to its roots.
EZ-Robot Revolution
EZ-Robot Revolution robots use a specially
designed souped-up controller. The EZ-B v4 Wi-Fi
robot controller brain runs a 32-bit processor at
120 MHz and uses a communication module that
is a 32-bit processor running at 80 MHz. The
camera uses a 32-bit processor, as well. “The
platform also has fuse protection, so that if you
over-drive the servos, you can reset the fuses
simply by unplugging the power and plugging it in
again,” says Sures.
The EZ-Robot Revolution modular robot
platform is versatile and customizable, while
remaining extremely comptetively priced. It is small
and precise, and comes with (smaller) parts such
as adapters, extensions, and cubes. Roboticists can
also design their own parts and print them on
3D printers. “We have two years of community
crowd-sourced features built into every EZ-Robot
Revolution product,” explains Sures.
EZ-Robot uses an open hardware model that
EZ-Robot Revolution is a new platform that enables creative types
and innovators to design and build robots with little or no
knowledge of robot building or programming. This enables people to
bypass the roadblocks of what they don't know how to do so they
can see their idea come to fruition. Plus, it’s always easier to start
with the published work of other roboticists, which comes in the
form of new parts and programming.
