30 SERVO 10.2014
We all dream of making robots that can serve drinks
on sail barges. Not only is this a tall technical feat, you
never know what kind of ugly slug your boss will be.
For first time robot makers, it's far better to start slow
and work yourself up the evolutionary ladder, before
you tackle your own version of R2-D2.
Figure 1. The PropBot,
ready for you to teach it new tricks.
The robot as shown is equipped with
two feeler switches, a piezo element
speaker for sound, and an ultrasonic
sensor mounted atop a servo-driven
turret. These additional features are
described in upcoming issues.
